Molly's Herbals

Information:

I'd like to introduce you to a few of the members of our family who live here at the Fias Co Farm Sanctuary.

This is Mable, the Basset Hound, doing her world famous "trick". It is the only trick she knows, but she does it quite well, don't you think? Pretty impressive for having such a long body. We feel this "trick" helps keep her spine strong, which is important since basset hounds can have spine problem because of their long bodies.

Diabetes in pets in not a death sentence. Mable was diagnosed with diabetes in 6/01. She was 8 years old at the time. We did home testing of her blood glucose levels using the home test meters intended for humans. She got two insulin shots a day and ate homemade "Mable Loaf" for her meals. Click here for more about Mable's diabetic story.

Mable left us on Oct. 6, 2004 at the age of 11 years. She lived 3 quality years with diabetes. We loved her dearly and she will always have a special place in our hearts.

Mable and Purknz, the cat, are the same age and grew up together. They are very best friends.

This is Purknz with Woodplye.

Woodpyle was a wonderful sweetheart of a guy. He was the largest cat you'd ever seem. He weighted 20 pounds and was not fat, just big. He was as sweet as could be and very loving.

Woodpyle was diagnosed with diabetes when he was 10 years old. We learned a lot about caring for animals with this disease from him and we were able to give him a full year of quality life before he was taken from us by cancer.

Purknz loved his big brother Woodpyle very much and was very effected by his passing. Purknz has a need to be around us all the time, which can make working difficult, but we manage to work around him.

Here Purknz is helping Larry design a logo.

This is Junior. He's slightly psychotic, but we love him anyway.

The power animals have to heal themselves is amazing. Junior's pelvis was broken in half by an attack by a dog. He also experienced extensive nerve damage. We nursed him at home and he has made a full recovery, without even so much as a limp.

Katia "found" our barn on a very cold day in January of 2004. We are not quite sure how old she is, but she was some where between a kitten and a cat when she found us. How could you resist such a sweetie?

Here are my beloved puffers, "taking a load off" after a hard day of swimming around.

My Reef tank ...."my hobby"
(A reef tank is a saltwater tank with corals, other invertebrates and live rock as well as fish).
It is my attempt to create a perfect little ecosystem.

We raise LaMancha Dairy Goats. Our main goat focus here at Fias Co Farm is to raise healthy, friendly goats as family milk producers, pets and companions. We boycott all Factory Farmed animal products and encourage others to do the same. We produce all our own dairy products, humanely, here on our own small family farm. We choose not to eat animals and do not raise or sell goats for meat related purposes.

Our barn, nestled in the Clinch Mountains of Eastern Tennessee.

Goats - Goldie & Niblets

I love Goldie the goat, dearly. She is the queen and matriarch of our goat herd.

Here Goldie just moments after giving birth. She loves all her babies very much.

Ronnie the Rooster

Our rare breed Dominque chickens,
doin' their chicken thing.

Guineas, nature's best tick control
(but also very noisy)

(my husband Larry w/ a goat baby)
Is there anything cuter than a goat baby?
