Many
people have asked me about the custom herbal formulas/dietary
supplements that I have developed and use as part of the holistic
natural care I give my own animals. On this page I list and describe
the formulas/supplements I've developed for my animals and what
I use them for. This
does not constitute medical or professional advice, but rather
sharing of information obtained from my research on the use of
herbs and herbal remedies. The information provided below is not
intended to diagnose or prescribe; it is provided for educational
purposes only.
To make these supplies accessible, I am now offering the herbs
I use and my personal herbal formulas for sale on this site but
please be aware that the use of herbs for the prevention or cure
of disease has not been approved by the FDA or USDA. We therefore
make no claims to this effect and the products offered on this
web site are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent
any disease. Please
read of the disclaimer at the bottom of this page.
I
care very much about animals and their well being. Because of
this, all of my products are made from only the highest quality,
"human grade" ingredients. I take pride that my herbal products
could be good enough for humans but priced affordably so they can be
used on animals.

my own, please click here.
Notation on ingredients/herbs used in my formulas:
(O) = Certified Organic: Has been grown, handled, and processed according to strict production standards that reduce and eliminate the use of toxic, persistent pesticides and fertilizers, and other harmful substances.
(W) = Wildcrafted: "Wildcrafted" plants are gathered from their natural, wild habitat, often from pristine areas. When wildcrafting is done sustainably with proper respect, generally only the branches or flowers from plants are taken and the living plant is left, or if it is necessary to take the whole plant, seeds of the plant are placed in the empty hole from which the plant was taken. Care is taken to only remove a few plants, flowers, or branches, so plenty remains to continue the supply. Wildcrafted plants are regulated by The Organic Food Production Act of 1991. Harvesters must designate the area they are harvesting and provide a three-year history of the area that shows no prohibited substances have been applied there. A plan for harvesting must show that the harvest will sustain the wild crop. No prohibited substances can be added by processors.
The
combination of herbs in this formula are traditionally used as an:
Immunostmulant, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and antiviral.*
This
is a blend of immune system supporting herbs. You can click on each
individual herb name above to read about each herb in further detail.
I developed this particular supplement originally to aid with Pneumonia,
congestion, "raspy" lungs, runny noses and coughing in
my goats. I started experimenting with it for other things and with
a little adjusting and fine tuning this formula has become my personal
"All Purpose Immune System Booster". This formula is intended
to work, not like Western Medicine drugs which only treat and mask
symptoms of illness; but holistically to aid in strengthening the
body's systems so that the body may attempt to heal itself, naturally.*

Testimonials page.
Serving
Suggestion
Given Orally 1-4 times per day, depending on the situation
Goats:
1 ml (1/4 tsp) per 10 lbs. Dogs: 1 ml per 20 lbs.
The
combination of herbs in this formula are traditionally used as
a: sedative, pain reliever, anti-inflammatory .
I
developed this formula originally to aid in helping our kids
deal with being disbudded and neutered. I wanted something
to help with stress and inflammation as well as help ease pain.
Whereas being disbudded and neutered is never easy, we have seen
that this formula does seem to help our kids deal with it a bit
better.
I also give this to aid with
other pain/stress related health issues.
I wanted something that would not cause kidney or liver damage
with long term use (like many drugs such as Banamine do), and also
something safe that could be used during pregnancy (many herbal
pain relievers now available for animals contain herbs that really
should not be used on a continuing basis and/or during pregnancy
such as Yucca & Devils
Claw).*
You
can read what other people have to say about this formula on our
Testimonials page.
Serving
Suggestion
Give Orally 1/2 hour to one hour before proceedure - or when
needed

The
combination of herbs in this formula are traditionally used to aid
in breathing and respiratory issues as well as support good lung
health.*
I
used to have a lot of problems with asthma and had to use two inhalers
(albuterol and a steroid) and sometimes even used a nebulizer. I
really didn't like taking all that medication (especially the steroids)
so I developed this tea mix for myself in hopes that it would help
my breathing a little (This was the first herbal formula I developed).
I also made sure I ate right, lost weight and now I drink "a
pot of tea" a day. Interestingly, I no longer have any asthma
problems whatsoever. I have not taken any medication for asthma
for over two years now.*

Testimonials page.
Serving

Humans:
Brew into a tea: add 1-2 quarts boiling water to 1/3 Cup
of herbs. Let steep at least 1 hour before drinking.
This tea can be refrigerated until the next day, but
is better if consumed the same day.
I have a tea pot that holds a little
less than 2 quarts of water. Each morning I add 1/3 cup of
herbs and then fill the pot with boiling water. After an hour,
I pour myself a cup (pouring through a small strainer, which
catches any loose herbs, which I put back in the pot). I continue
to come back and fill my glass throughout the day from the
pot. Leave the herbs in the water all day. It usually takes
me all day to finish. This is also a good way of making sure
you are drinking enough liquid each day.
Animals:
1/3 Cup- Fed as dry herbs (straight or mixed with food) given
once per day or brewed into a tea and added to the animal's
water.
